A Georgia witness near Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport reports watching a silent, white “ball of light” coming from the east and then moving north in the night sky on March 6, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) database.

The object was visible to a small group of witnesses for about one minute, and then it disappeared behind trees in the distance.

The following is the unedited and as yet uninvestigated report filed with MUFON. Please keep in mind that most UFO reports can be explained as something natural or manmade. If Georgia MUFON investigates and reports back on this case, I will release an update.

GA, March 6, 2010 – ball of light (white), bright from all angles, no blinking lights, silent. MUFON Case # 22239.

I went outside of our home to call our oldest son home from a friend’s house across the street. From our driveway, I noticed my son, his friend and his friend’s mom and dad looking at the sky pointing at something.

I looked up and saw a ball of light silently and smoothly cruising from the east in a straight line, then slowly started turning north until it finally disappeared (at least about a minute long or more, and it disappeared from view behind trees but a long way off)

I thought at first maybe it was a really bright aircraft up pretty high, but quickly dismissed that idea… (living near Hartsfield Jackson International Airport, we’re used to constant air traffic overhead our neighbourhood, and I know what that looks like).

Economic Management is About How People are Able to Live

leave a comment »

by Horace Carby-Samuels

As we go about our lives each day, we usually look upon ourselves as being normal and responsible persons. Therefore, we hardly give any thought to the guidance system that we draw on, as we make our decisions, about what we should do next, or about how successful we have been in what we have already done.

We also hardly pay attention to the fact that the bulk of the decisions which we make (about how and where we apply our efforts), emerge out of the guidance of the capitalist system of education and socialization, which seduces (and some would say to sucker) us, into making decisions about our lives, guided by how our wealth and financial position will change. Yet, as mortal humans, it is at targets in survival that which we should aim; because the cash-centred appraisal emphasis effectively places us in the fast track, on the road to our utter destruction (as Conscious and responsible social entities. What we need instead, is a revised appraisal focus which is oriented at how we live, rather than at how profitable commerce has been. That is because, to humans as Conscious entities, successful living means opportunities to commit our time, our efforts, and our resources, in ways that will enable the time-path (of the decisions that form) our lives as an economic space, to be more meaningful.

Some background

The prevailing Western system of formal and informal education, has conditioned us into a capitalist socialization; which has primed us to look upon our available time, as an opportunity to secure more spendable money. The message is that with such success, we may then be able to purchase more of the “trinkets”, or more of the “services” that we see ourselves as “deserving”, (and that the corporations will be offering for sale to us at a profit).

Members of the society are also conditioned to commit their time and effort to developing skills for which the earners of profit will offer high financial compensation, as the key to their economic success. However, if we put a high value on the evolution of human Consciousness, we must not allow ourselves to be seduced by the capitalist technique of leading us to guide our lives, according to the level of opportunities for financial gain that are offered. Instead, we need to see that our economic management choices, are not separate from our efforts to develop an informed Consciousness of ourselves, and of our natural environment (and how it functions).

As Conscious humans, we will be on the path to achieving effective economic development when we recognize that over any space of time, our economic achievement is not merely the flows of money (equivalent) value from our efforts or from buoyant commerce. Instead, in our respective societies we need to come to recognize that effective economic output, arises as enhanced verifiable understanding, together with flows of material outcomes in behalf of our survival in the natural environment at hand. Recognition of these economic management facts, will allow us to be better able to place ourselves in, as well as to join with any prevailing empathy-linked cosmic intelligence or reality.

If we begin to focus on achieving a higher level of awareness about our cosmic reality/existence, that offers a superior economic development prospect, than any commerce-centred outcome to which capitalist economic development management is committed. Capitalist doctrine merely offers us opportunities to be more successful chasers after money, and technological “goodies”. At th same time, that doctrine is systematically structuring strategies of education and socialization, with the aim to destroy the evolution of our human Consciousness.

Meanwhile, as we go about our daily lives we all respectively have self-images which we seek to maintain or to cherish. We go about doing so, with the use of the resource management operations to which we commit. Additionally, a complex society presents persons with opportunities to enter into a variety of trades in order to acquire the variety of goods and services which they see themselves as needing, so as to confirm, support, or maintain their self-images. Additionally, the convenience of money smooths the execution of these trading operations.

However, long before money of any sort, was either created or decided upon, humans have been daily executing another important set of non-commercial trades. These involved how persons budget the commitment of their time (among different mixes of activities) in their aim to give quality features to the experience-in-living at which they respectively aim.

Accordingly, whereas capitalist economists focus on the money economy and on the mixes of trades out of which financial earnings arise, there has also existed the real economy, where exchange for money is not involved, but where persons made decisions about alternative activities to which they will commit their time.

There is also the additional feature that ever since humans developed a sense of sentience of themselves (as a component in a larger reality), they also became conscious of the fact that they are heirs to a latent cosmic linkage; and in acknowledgement of that linkage, humans began to bury their dead From their observations about how the natural environment responded to their efforts, humans also evolved a respect for informed awareness. They also came to recognize that their choices of how and where they allocated their time, would trigger a path to information which would allow them to subsequently reconnect to their latent cosmic linkage, which their ancestors had recognized.

That commitment to time-use management in which humans participate, is the substantive real economy in the form of their opportunities for time-use selection, and for being able to access preferred mixes of time-management choices and operations as they go about living their lives. Furthermore, under their ancestral heritage, humans have also framed living-centred efficiency considerations that they apply to the process of selecting and making their time-use commitment and management operations.

For example, humans saw that in order to repeat technical results, they needed to better understand what was occurring. Historically, therefore, they began to link their ability to satisfy the quality-of-living targets (which they were aiming to pursue under the guidance of their sentience and their Consciousness), .was also linked to their effectiveness in enhancing their understanding their natural environment and how it operated..

Historically, therefore, humans have been aiming to secure the type of Human Development, in which they will be able to better survive materially, and at the same time gain enhanced understanding of their natural environment (and its autonomous rules of operation). In addition, they began to view their attainment of Human Development and an expanding of their latent cosmic linkage, as being parallel operations..

However, how people are able to live in in concert with their natural environment, is not an outcome on which capitalist economists focus in their appraisal of economic performance.. Instead, these capitalist analysts are (effective) agents of the alien consciousness which is hostile to the evolution of human consciousness, and that instead, is aiming to condition humans to keep focusing on the financial gains, as their attainment targets from their selections of time and effort commitments.

It is the ancient Gnostic scholars who had provided to us the warning about a hostile and predatory alien consciousness (such as that which is behind the promotion of capitalist doctrine) which is operating among us under various masquerades. This information was recently reported on, by John Lamb Lash (2006) in his book Not In His Image; (Chelsea Green Publishing Company).

Evidently, the prevailing predatory, hostile, alien consciousness which is behind the capitalist doctrine, aims to divert humans from including in their economic decisions (about how and where to commit their efforts), features in aup0port of their targets in Consciousness enhancement. However, our opportunity to secure a high quality-of-living, can be achieved only if we are able to use our time and effort commitments to enhance our level of understanding and awareness about our natural environment and about how it functions.

When the capitalist doctrine (as well as organized religion), operate to socialize persons to use monetary results, to orient, as well as to judge the success of their economic management efforts, these institutions are certainly not promoting Human Development objectives.

Meanwhile, the English neo-classical economist Alfred Marshall, in his 1890 book Principles of Economics, had pointed to the presence of more than monetary results at which humans aim their economic management efforts. He stressed that when people decided to change jobs, their decision was guided by their expectation of how their real income would change, rather than by what their expected money income would show. Yet, by virtue of their allegiance to the predatory alien consciousness behind the capitalist doctrine, Western economists have been systematically suppressing the recognition of the living-related results (in the form of options to make their time-use meaningful), that had influenced the real income observation of Alfred Marshall

Current Reality

Capitalist economists primarily focus features that buoy up the money economy where financial profits are made. They aim to get us to focus only on financial level of commerce. that arises from how the resources that exist in our natural environment are being used. As a result, they dismiss the objective economic validity of measurements of resource usage and of the outcomes from trade that are stated in other than a money-equivalent weighted terms. Not surprisingly, therefore, the economist Milton Friedman argued that, the real income (about which the neo-classical economist Alfred Marshall was speaking), is no more than the money income [of these persons], which they had [implicitly] adapted to accommodate for changes in price levels, that are due to inflation.

However, unquestionably, it is NOT any expectation of their being able to secure more money in the future, which has historically lead persons to reject suicide as being either a proper or a desirable course of time-use-commitment. Meanwhile, under the inspiration of the prevailing hostile alien consciousness, capitalist economists have used clever analytical ploys and tactics, to report the trade and exchange operations of persons as being no more than portrayals of financial-equivalent arrangements.. Yet, humans have been executing the real economy and its non-cash arrangements, ever since their first glimmer of sentience. Furthermore, as thy proceeded to manage how hey allocated their time, they recognized that the extent to which they could enhance their verifiable information about how their environment works, also contributed to their real income, and also to the understanding that would enable them to re-establish a cosmic linkage; (on their way to achieving Human Development).

Accordingly, Horace Carby-Samuels (2006) presented the book Quality-of-Life and Human Development as the Outcome from Economic Progress: (Agora Cosmopolitan Publishing; ISBN 1897036353), where he elaborated on that background. He stressed that, toward achieving their quality-of-life targets in the real economy, humans allocated their time (for living) among a mix of three categories of (not mutually exclusive) time-use operations. These time-use operations, comprise Subsistence-securing Operations/Activities; Meaning-Search Operations/Activities; and Rest and Recreational Operations/Activities.

In contrast with the capitalist focus on human economic reality, Carby-Samuels pointed out that securing Human Development, is the supreme economic achievement which Conscious humans seek (from the commitment of their time and their resources), in the natural environment at hand. He also emphasized that, in their aim to secure a high quality-of-living, (as the focus which is consistent with our ancient cosmic roots); and also toward securing Human Development, respective humans apply a living-centred economizing rule to appraise the appropriateness of their effort allocation patterns in the time-space which forms their lives..

In this non-cash focus on human (as compared to corporate) economic achievement, humans as Conscious entities, are seen as aiming to maximize the meaningfulness of their decision to remain alive. The capitalist tactic of using programs of formal and informal education, to condition humans to focus primarily on financial results, should therefore be recognized as being particularly pernicious.

In particular, when capitalist doctrine has seduced governments to use changes in financial accounting of economic output to indicate the pertinent changes in resource interface to which the members of the society have been exposed, information about the opportunities for Human Development among members of the society., will not be available to these governments. Instead, the economic development programs of such governments will promote a commercial, self-centred, fee-for-service exploitive trade, that is indifferent to the principles of empathy and mutuality (which should exist between civilized human beings).

Currently, therefore, even though the continuing world-wide downturn of production and trade was generated by disingenuous profit-seeking schemes (in the banks and near banks in the United States), the economic management plans of Western governments. represent back to promoting the profit interests of the large banks and the large corporations. Not surprisingly, too, the capitalist advisers, who are behind the Economic Reconstruction and Recovery Program of President Obama of the United States, are doing what capitalists normally do. They are principally promoting programs that will bring the commercial banks and the large corporations back into flourishing financial profitability.

The capitalist advisors of President Obama, what happens to the real income (that is, to the living-centred opportunities that become available to he members of the society, as they manage their time for living), is not an economic management priority on which the government should focus. Similarly, at the so called annual World Economic Forum, in Davos, Switzerland, the living-centred opportunities that are open to people, are not seen as a priority indicator of economic attainment .

Correspondingly, the so called G8, G20, or G?, conferences of world leaders, are not about how economic and political management in a society, may foster or promote the opportunities of persons on the planet to gain access to Human Development. Rather, these meetings and conferences are about developing mutually respected techniques and administrative regimes, within which capitalists may legitimately pillage the natural resources of the planet, toward the generating (in the name of economic development) more financial profit for their associated corporations and banks in these countries.

The remedy Route

Before any remedy can be developed, it is necessary to fully recognize and appreciate the substance of what comprises a trade environment. For example, it must be particularly borne in mind is that trading is a privilege which human societies have protected, and have fought wars to do so. In addition, to co-ordinate the execution of that trading privilege, people in their respective societies formed governments, and have then gave these governments supervisory powers, to preserve and to police trade-related matters

What must be remembered is that substantively, an economy jointly embodies and portrays administrative as well as production and exchange activity relationships. These are intended to be the initiatives that persons take in their strategies to manipulate the components of their natural environment, in their search to get mixes of results which they desire from how they allocate their time and their other scarce resources.

In conjunction with their system of governance, persons in their respective societies developed money, to facilitate their interpersonal and their inter societal trading patterns.. However, humans were undertaking effective trading (in how and where they commit their efforts), long before the invention of fiduciary currency (of the sort in which capitalist banks now deal). However, the commercial economy, where items are produced and are traded primarily to secure net financial-equivalent results. out of their market exchanges, and their fee-for-service operations, is not the only existing one..

That is because, as a result of what humans have learned over their evolutionary history, they aimed to achieve targets in understanding, and therefore to to achieve targets in Human Development as a result of how they manage the commitment of their time.

Accordingly, to continue that historical desire to achieve Human Development, we will therefore need to return our focus to our historical awareness that the real economy is where we live, and is also about how we manage the flow of the time that forms our lives, (if we aim to better understand our environment, and also to achieve Consciousness enhancement).

We therefore need to begin to free ourselves from the capitalist tactics to divert our attention to commercial (equivalent) success. We must not succumb to the capitalist “poisoning” of our sensibilities, in its aims to lead us to behave primarily as chasers after money, which we may then use to purchase the ware that are offered for sale to us by profit-seeking corporations..

Additionally, we need to demand that our governments should accept their responsibilities to begin to foster our survival (and the quality-of-living patterns that embrace the real economy). Therefore they will need to put in place a number of initiatives. They will first need to restrain the free-wheeling privileges that the commercial banks now enjoy. In particular, governments that are committed to foster qualityu-of-life enhancement must put a significant crimp on the deposit-reserve ratios, on which these commercial banks now operate.

Governments, will also need to stipulate ownership rights which will ensure that the non renewable resources of the society are available to service the quality-of-life needs of the members of the populace, rather than made accessible to be used primarily in behalf of the financial profit targets of the commercial banks and large corporations.

Americans who awaken to the recognition of their heritage as Conscious entities (who are in search of the requisite features to enhance their quality-of-living), should resist being mentally subjugated into the capitalist “plantation”, where they are accommodated as financial-seeking “serfs” who are under the implicit control of an alien consciousness. Therefore , Americans should t require that their president in his Economic Reconstruction and Recovery package, should include an emphasis on promoting the real economy, and also the quality-of-living opportunities that lead to Human Development as an outcome.

The economic management emphasis of the American president, (and also that of the heads of other Western governments) should be primarily about promoting, or about shoring up the access of members of the society to time-use opportunities that make for a higher quality-of-living. Therefore, in his Economic Reconstruction and Recovery packages, President Obama should accommodate the corporations and the banks, as being nothing more than respective legitimated economic service sectors. These service sectors, should be seen as having been given the privilege to operate (as technical infrastructure), in behalf of facilitating the quality-of-living targets of the members of the society as they pursue their (Consciousness-linked) objectives in Human Development.

Against the background of the potential for living-centred quality-of-life enhancement, the aim of capitalist doctrine to lead persons to look upon living, as being all about the opportunities for them to chase after, and to acquire more “spending money”, is pernicious. The capitalist doctrine should therefore be recognized as the humanity-destroying force that it is. intended to be.

Special to The Canadian

As a researcher and hypnotherapist I have worked with people who claimed to have been abducted by extraterrestrials. I have interviewed UFO researchers, scientists, authors, and people who claim to have secret information.

Physical evidence seems to support many case histories, though some experiences may actually be caused by dreams, mental problems, media indoctrination, or misinterpretation of what the person has seen. All leave an imprint on the psyche of the person, or persons (multiple abductions involved).

Most countries have reports of alien abductions. They occur in large cities as well as the rural areas.

Abductions occur at any time of the day or night.

Many abductions are not reported, because there is no one to tell, or the abductee fears ridicule from others, especially if they feel they have been sexually violated.

People who have been abducted many times keep journals to determine patterns or timetables. They sometimes write books about their experiences.

Abductees have tried many interesting techniques to protect themselves, but to date, I know of no one specific approach that prevents these experiences.

Abductees have reported attempts to video or photograph the events. Some abductees have experimented with infrared film. Most footage is useless.

My opinion of this experience: We are all part of a biogenetic experiment – the abduction phenomena a metaphor for the greater experience. The Grays are part of the programmed illusion as all is a virtual experience in time and emotion.

Often abductees are told that the experience is for some ‘greater good’. Always remember that anyone who does anything to you without your permission – or makes your soul feel uncomfortable – does not have your best interests at heart. Be careful what you believe.

What is abduction phenomena?

The abduction phenomenon is an umbrella term used to describe a number of hypotheses, claims or assertions stating that non-human creatures kidnap individuals, sometimes called abductees, usually for medical testing or for sexual reproduction procedures. Many such encounters are described as terrifying or humiliating, but others describe them as transformative or even pleasant. Reports of the abduction phenomenon have been made from around the world, but have perhaps seen most mainstream attention in the United States. Most abduction cases show these patterns:

  • Capture (Abductees taken from room/area and find themselves in the “ship”)Examination (Probes inserted in different areas, etc.)
  • Communicate (“Aliens” speak with abductees)
  • Tour (Not always described but some abductees claim to be shown the ship)
  • Missing Time or Loss of Time (Many abductees suffer from periods of time removed from their memory, often coming back to them later)
  • Return (Returned, sometimes with environmental changes)
  • Aftermath (Sickness, new phobias, ridicule, etc.)

Such alleged abductions are often closely connected to UFO reports, and are sometimes supposedly conducted by so-called Greys: Short, grey-skinned humanoids with large, pear-shaped heads and enormous, dark eyes.

Skeptics tend to doubt that the phenomenon occurs literally as reported, and a wide variety of alternate explanations have been proposed (see below). Rather, such skeptics often argue that the phenomenon might be characterized as a type of modern-day folk myth (like the historic belief in vampires).

The alien abduction phenomenon has been the subject of conspiracy theory and as such has become a staple of popular science fiction works such as ‘The X-Files.’

While few mainstream scientists believe the phenomenon literally occurs as reported – some experts contend the field is rife with kooks and pseudoscience – there is little doubt that many apparently stable and sincere persons report alien abductions they believe are utterly genuine: as reported in the Harvard University Gazette in 1992, Dr. John Edward Mack investigated over 60 claimed abductees, and “spent countless therapeutic hours with these individuals only to find that what struck him was the ‘ordinariness’ of the population, including a restaurant owner, several secretaries, a prison guard, college students, a university administrator, and several homemakers … ‘The majority of abductees do not appear to be deluded, confabulating, lying, self-dramatizing, or suffering from a clear mental illness,’ he maintained. He has encountered only one person who showed psychotic features.”

I met Dr. Mack on several occasion in the 1990’s while working as a hypnotherapist with patients of my won in that field. I was saddened to hear about his untimely death in 2004. He was a skeptic, destined to become a believer.

Stigma and self-doubt may be obstacles to more widespread study and/or reporting of the phenomenon, whatever its origins or explanation. Some abduction reports are quite detailed. An entire subculture has developed around the subject, with support groups and a detailed mythos explaining the reasons for abductions: The various aliens (Greys, Reptilians, “Nordics” and so on) are said to have specific roles, origins, and motivations. Abduction claimants do not always attempt to explain the phenomenon, but some take independent research interest in it themselves, and explain the lack of greater awareness of Alien Abduction as the result of either extraterrestrial or governmental interest in cover-up.

Others still are intrigued by the entire phenomenon, but hesitate in making any definitive conclusions. Emergency room physician Dr. John G. Miller asks, “How can a person have any firmly held belief about this when it’s so mysterious? The opinions of the true believers are hard to swallow; and the opinions of the die-hard skeptics are not based on reality either. There is some middle ground … It’s clear that this is some sort of powerful subjective experience. But I do not know what the objective reality is. It’s as if the evidence leads us in both directions.” (Bryan, 162) Similarly, the late Harvard psychiatrist John Mack concluded, “The furthest you can go at this point is to say there’s an authentic mystery here. And that is, I think, as far as anyone ought to go.” (emphasis as in original) (Bryan, 269)

Putting aside the question of whether abduction reports are literally and objectively “real”, literature professor Terry Matheson argues that their popularity and their intriguing appeal is easily understood. Tales of abduction “are intrinsically absorbing; it is hard to imagine a more vivid description of human powerlessness.” After experiencing the frisson of delightful terror one may feel from reading ghost stories or watching horror movies, Matheson notes that people “can return to the safe world of their homes, secure in the knowledge that the phenomenon in question cannot follow. But as the abduction myth has stated almost from the outset, there is no avoiding alien abductors.” (Matheson, 297)

Even hearing a tape recording of (or watching a video recording of) a hypnotic regression session can be a chilling experience, leaving little doubt to some observers that the individual is either an accomplished actor, or genuinely believes they are reliving a horrifying experience. Once hypnotized and supposedly recalling an abduction event, some people relate the event calmly, while others may beg pathetically for the event to stop, cry in apparent horror, shout angrily or tremble with fear.

Matheson writes that when compared to the earlier contactee reports, abduction accounts are distinguished by their “relative sophistication and subtlety, which enabled them to enjoy an immediately more favorable reception from the public.”

Researchers and Historic Cases

Know one knows has far alien abductions and experiments go in the history of humanity, but it would seem that these events have occurred since the beginning of time, as if human DNA is part of an ‘alien experiment’.

Some people trace alien abduction accounts to the 1930s if not earlier. Many people they go back to the time of pre WW II and Hitler’s underground projects – though no tangible proof has been given.

The so-called Richard Shaver Mystery of the 1940s has some similarities to later abduction accounts, as well, with sinister beings said to be kidnapping and torturing humans.

The UFO contactees of the 1950s claimed to have contacted aliens, but the substance of contactee narratives were often quite different from alien abduction accounts.

Neither the contactees (people who report conversations with aliens) nor these early abduction accounts, however, saw much attention from ufology, then still largely reluctant to consider close encounters of the third kind, where occupants of UFOs are allegedly seen.

The notion of being kidnapped by extraterrestrials goes back at least to the mid-1950s, with the Antonio Villas Boas case (which didn’t receive much attention until several years later).

In the early years, abductees were afraid to come forward and tell their stories. They feared ridicule by family, friends, and co-workers or government threats to keep them quiet. There were no support groups and no where to turn. As the years passed that all was destined to change.

Betty and Barney Hill

Widespread publicity was generated by the Barney and Betty Hill abduction case of 1961 (again not widely known until several years afterwards), culminating in a made for television film broadcast in 1975 (starring James Earl Jones and Estelle Parsons) dramatizing the events. The Hill incident was probably the prototypical abduction case, and was the first in which the beings explicitly identified an extraterrestrial origin (the star Zeta Reticuli was later suspected as their point of origin.)

As the story goes … On September 19, 1961 on US Route 3 near the village of Lancaster. Barney and Betty Hill of Portsmouth, New Hampshire were traveling home after a vacation in Canada when they saw a moving light in the sky. Every now and then they would stop and check on the unusual light that seemed to “fly” an erratic course. They drove on towards the White Mountains, noting that the object was now much larger and following a parallel course to their car.

Approaching Indian Head, the light appeared directly ahead of them Barney Hill left the engine running and got out of the car to observe the strange object with a pair of binoculars. He observed what he described as “5 to 11 figures moving behind a double row of windows”.

Betty Hill, who was observing her husband from her side of the car, heard her husband repeating, “I don’t believe it! I don’t believe it! This is ridiculous!” She, however, was unable to see the figures or the descent of the UFO. The object was now approximately 70-feet overhead and about 100-feet distant when Barney Hill ran back to the car exclaiming, “They are going to capture us!”. He got back in the car and drove away at a ‘break-neck’ speed.

During this time Betty Hill was still unable to see the object but her husband thought that it was directly over the car. They heard a loud beeping noise, similar to the sound of a “tuning fork”, and then they felt very drowsy. When they awoke, they found themselves driving near Ashland, two hours later. Ashland is 35- miles south of Indian Head, a twenty or thirty minute drive. They continued their drive home, feeling somewhat uneasy and confused about their missing two hours.

The next day they reported their experience to officials at Pease Air Force Base. A few days later, an investigator from the National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomena (NICAP) documented both of their stories.

Their experience was far from over. Within ten days of the incident, Betty Hill began having recurring nightmares in which 8 to 11 “men” would stand in the middle of the road and stop the Hills’ car. They would then be led into a disk-shaped craft and examined.

Samples of hair and skin would be taken. Continued anxiety led both of the Hills to seek the help of Dr. Benjamin Simon, a Boston psychiatrist who specialized in treating personality disorders and amnesia through hypnotherapy, which was becoming popular.

Their treatment lasted for six months. With time regression hypnosis, many details of their encounter were revealed. The detail in which both Hills described their abductors and the subsequent examination matched closely to each other as well as to Betty Hill’s nightmares. Betty Hill, under posthypnotic suggestion, was able to draw a “star map” detailing the origin of the alien abductors. The amazing configuration of Betty’s map was not to be realized for some years.

An astronomical investigation, based on information that was not available in 1961, produced a controversial match between Betty’s “star map” and a cluster of previously unknown stars near two stars called Zeta Reticuli.

Dr. Simon later stated that his professional opinion of the Hill’s abduction account was that it was mere fantasy. As a prominent Boston psychiatrist, it would be particularly damaging to his reputation to ‘believe’ that the Hill’s story was anything but a product of their collective imaginations. His reasoning for his conclusion was that “people do not necessarily tell the factual truth while they are under hypnosis – all they tell is what they believe to be the truth.

Grey Aliens from Zeti

Researchers I Worked With

Through the years I spent time with some of the notables in UFO research, hardworking people whose destiny it was to unfold the mysteries of the alien abduction scenario and its effects on humans. As a hypnotherapist I have similar stories to report as my fellow researchers. I was never abducted nor have ever encountered a gray alien … so far.

Josef Allen Hynek (May 1, 1910 – April 27, 1986) was a U.S. astronomer, professor, and well respected ufologist in the old days. He also as scientific advisor to Project Blue Book from 1952 to 1969. In response to many Unidentified Flying Object sightings, the U.S. Air Force established Project Sign in 1948; this later became Project Grudge, which in turn became Project Blue Book in 1952. Hynek was contacted by Project Sign to act as scientific consultant for their investigation of UFO reports. Hynek would study a UFO report and subsequently decide if its description of the UFO suggested a known astronomical object. Hynek was the founder and head of the Center for UFO Studies (CUFOS). Founded in 1973 and based in Chicago, CUFOS is an organization stressing scientific analysis of UFO cases. CUFOS extensive archives include valuable files from civilian research groups such as NICAP, one of the most popular and credible UFO research groups of the 1950’s and 1960’s.

Dr. Leo Sprinkle, a University of Wyoming psychologist, became interested in the abduction phenomenon in the 1960s. For some years, he was probably the only academic figure devoting any time to studying or researching abduction accounts. Sprinkle became convinced of the phenomenon’s actuality, and was perhaps the first to suggest a link between abductions and cattle mutilation. Eventually Sprinkle came to believe that he had been abducted by aliens in his youth; he was forced from his job in 1989.

The 1980s brought a major degree of mainstream attention to the subject.

Budd Hopkins – a painter and sculptor by profession – had been interested in UFOs for some years. In the 1970s he became interested in abduction reports, and began using hypnosis in order to extract more details of dimly remembered events. Hopkins soon became a figurehead of the growing abductee subculture. he lives and works here in NYC. Works by Budd Hopkins, Whitley Strieber, David Michael Jacobs and John Mack presented alien abduction as a genuine phenomenon; the very popular X Files television program featured alien abduction as a central theme.

I met Budd Hopkins at a MUFON meeting in Manhattan in June 1989 then spoke with him several times after that. His support group Intruders still exists and several of my clients work with his hypnotherapist as part of ongoing abductions.

The mid and late 1980s saw the involvement of two esteemed academic figures: Harvard psychiatrist John Mack and historian David Michael Jacobs. With Hopkins, Jacobs and Mack, several shifts occurred in the nature of the abduction narratives. There had been earlier abduction reports (the Hills being the best known), but they were believed to be few and far between, and saw rather little attention from ufology (and even less attention from mainstream professionals or academics). Jacobs and Hopkins argued that alien abduction was far more common than earlier suspected; they estimate that tens of thousands (or more) North Americans had been taken by unexplained beings.

Furthermore, Jacobs and Hopkins argued that there was an elaborate scheme underway, that the aliens were attempting a program to create humanalien hybrids, though the motives for this scheme were unknown. There were anecdotal reports of phantom pregnancy related to UFO encounters at least as early as the 1960s, but Budd Hopkins and especially David Michael Jacobs were instrumental in popularizing the idea of widespread, systematic interbreeding efforts on the part of the alien intruders.

Despite the relative paucity of corroborative evidence, Jacobs presents this scenario as not only plausible, but self-evident. Hopkins and Jacobs have also been criticized for selective citation of abductee interviews, favoring those which support their hypothesis of extraterrestrial intervention.

The involvement of Jacobs and Mack marked something of a sea change in the abduction studies. Their efforts were controversial (both men saw some degree of damage to their professional reputations), but to other observers, Jacobs and Mack brought a degree of respectability to the subject.

Dr. John Mack was a well known, highly esteemed psychiatrist, author of over 150 scientific articles and winner of the Pulitzer Prize for his biography of T.E. Lawrence. Mack became interested in the phenomenon in the late 1980s, interviewing dozens of people, and eventually writing two books on the subject. Mack was somewhat more guarded in his investigations and interpretations of the abduction phenomenon than the earlier researchers. Mack notes when alternative interpretations are viable; throughout Abduction, his first book on the subject, he allows and even considers likely that alien abductions are a new type of visionary experience.

I would agree with Matheson that unlike earlier abduction researchers, Mack was generally quite cautious in his interpretations of physical evidence and corroborative testimony. He places little value in the scars and scratches often attributed to alien “medical” exams, and argues that trying to prove the actuality of alleged “implants” placed in abductees is largely a futile effort. Mack argued that the abduction phenomenon might be the beginning of a major paradigm shift in human consciousness, or “a kind of fourth blow to our collective egoism, following those of Copernicus, Darwin and Freud.” (Bryan, 270) Mack also noted that, after an initial period of terror and confusion (a phase he dubbed “ontological shock”), many abductees ultimately regard their experiences more positively, saying that their experiences broadened their consciousness.

In June 1992, Mack co-organized a five-day conference at MIT to discuss and debate the abduction phenomenon. The conference attracted a wide range of professionals, representing a variety of perspectives. (In response to this conference, Mack and Jacobs were awarded an Ig Nobel Prize in 1993). Writer C.D.B. Bryan attended the conference, initially intending to gather information for a short humorous article for The New Yorker. While attending the conference, however, Bryan’s view of the subject changed, and he wrote a serious, open-minded book on the phenomenon, additionally interviewing many abductees, skeptics, and proponents.

The Roper Poll — In 1991, Hopkins, Jacobs and sociologist Dr. Ron Westrum commissioned a Roper Poll in order to determine how many Americans might have experienced the abduction phenomenon. Of nearly 6,000 Americans, 119 answered in a way that Hopkins et al interpreted as supporting their ET interpretation of the abduction phenomenon. Based on this figure, Hopkins et al estimated that nearly four million Americans might have been abducted by extraterrestrials. The poll results are available at this external link: The Roper Poll: UFOs & Extraterrestrial Life, Americans’ Beliefs and Personal Experiences However, critics have argued that there were significant problems with the poll’s methodology which should invalidate the results. Writing in Skeptical Inquirer, psychologist Susan Blackmore notes that based on her analysis, “I conclude that the claim of the Roper Poll, that 3.7 million Americans have probably been abducted, is false.”

Interpretations, Analyses and Proposed Explanations

As a UFO researchers I have heard most of these conclusion and find them viable.

There have been a variety of explanations offered for abduction phenomena, ranging from sharply skeptical appraisals to uncritical acceptance of all abductee claims. Others have elected not to try explaining things, instead noting similarities to other phenomena, or simply documenting the development of the alien abduction phenomenon.

  • Some have argued that alien abduction is a literal phenomenon: extraterrestrials kidnap humans in order to conduct studies or experiments. This is a well-known popular explanation, but has seen very little support from most mainstream scientists or experts.
  • Proposed psychological alternative explanations of the abduction phenomenon have included hallucination, temporary schizophrenia, and parasomnia – near-sleep mental states (hypnogogic states and sleep paralysis). Sleep paralysis in particular is often accompanied by hallucinations and peculiar sensation of malevolent or neutral presence of “something,” though usually people experiencing it do not interpret that “something” as aliens. Occasionally the abduction phenomenon is also theorized to be a confused memory of past events (such as sexual abuse).
  • It is possible that some alleged abductees may be mentally unstable or under the influence of recreational drugs, though, as noted above in one sampling of abductees studied by Mack, only a very small minority are anything other than “ordinary” people without obvious mental illness.
  • Especially criticized as unreliable is frequent reliance on hypnosis. It has been demonstrated that false memories are often very easily created, and that hypnosis can unintentionally aid in confabulation. Some abductees, however, report vivid, detailed accounts without hypnosis.
  • UFO researcher Jenny Randles cited “an interesting study in which individuals were asked to describe imaginary alien abductions.” (Bryan, 49) If these invented scenarios were similar to allegedly genuine abduction accounts, it might demonstrate that supposedly genuine accounts were indistinguishable from invented accounts. The study, however, found little in common between the two types of narratives. Bryan writes “Randal¹s findings strike me as significant: people who are asked to describe imaginary abductions do not come up with the scenarios, sequences or Beings described by the overwhelming majority of abductees. The ‘medical examination,’ such a major, recurring aspect of the abductees stories, is entirely absent from the imaginers accounts.”
  • Many events reported during purported abductions often have parallels in anthropology, folklore and religion – especially frequently correlate with certain imagery persistent in shamanic experiences (e.g., surgery-like procedures, foreign objects implanted in the body) and faerie contact stories, for instance. John Edward Mack, for one, suggested that modern abduction accounts should be considered as part of this larger history of visionary encounters.
  • Astronomer Carl Sagan wrote about the theory that the alien abduction experience is remarkably similar to tales of demon abduction common throughout history. “…most of the central elements of the alien abduction account are present, including sexually obsessive non-humans who live in the sky, walk through walls, communicate telepathically, and perform breeding experiments on the human species. Unless we believe that demons really exist, how can we understand so strange a belief system, embraced by the whole Western world (including those considered the wisest among us), reinforced by personal experience in every generation, and taught by Church and State? Is there any real alternative besides a shared delusion based on common brain wiring and chemistry?”
  • Terence McKenna described seeing “Machine Elves” while experimenting with Dimethyltryptamine (also known as DMT). The description of Machine Elves is often consistent with the description of “grey” aliens. In a 1988 study conducted at UNM, psychologist Rick Strassman found that approximately 20% of volunteers injected with high doses of DMT had experiences identical to purported Alien Abductions.

A report originating near Georgetown, SC, describes four people and their account of missing time after encountering a 4-foot-wide orb, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) database.

The testimony was generated by a friend who is asking MUFON to investigate the case. The report claims that the four went to a location where others had seen the same orb.

Georgetown is the county seat of Georgetown County, population 8,950.

The following is the unedited and as yet uninvestigated report filed with MUFON. Please keep in mind that most UFO reports can be explained as something natural or manmade. If South Carolina MUFON investigates and reports back on this case, I will release an update.

SC, May 2009 – Orb approached them, time lost, hours of video lost on 3 camera. MUFON Case # 22118.

A friend of mine reported to me that he and several friends went to witness something that others had previously seen or experienced. The location was in Georgetown or Conway, SC or somewhere in the vacinity. I’m sure if he was interviewed by a professional, he could help narrow down the location. His story goes as follows:

He and 3 friends went to a location where they had heard that a phenomenon has occurred for others. According to him (His name is Luke and has said he’d be willing to repeat this to a professional investigator.)

According to Luke, upon going down a dirt road, and ‘orb’ (my word, not his) approached them. He said it may have been 4 feet across, but first appeared as a small blip of light. He and his friends had 3 video recorders going in anticipation of something happening because of local lore. He said they later “woke up” several hours later on the road to Myrtle Beach where they were staying with no recollection of what happened from the time they saw the ball of light until then. Also, hours of video were missing from the 3 cameras they had. He further states that the next day he had a foreign object in his hand that his doctor later explained to be from heated aspartame in a diet cola that he ingested.

Several things struck me from this story:

1. Lost time
2. Lost video
3. An unexplained object that raced toward them.
4. A foreign object in him the next day which he claims is still there.
5. He says at least one other member of his party has an object in them from this.
6. He described it as an orb, though ‘orb’ was my word, not his, he said it was a “ball of light”

He says locals have reported similar expriences, which is why they went down this road with video cameras rolling.

He says he’d be willing to interview with a MUFON investigator. I told him that he should, because they could ask questions in a professional manner. I should be able to set up an interview with him if someone wants to follow up on this.

I believe his story to be true. He did not volunteer the info about something being lodged in his hand until after I told him that it was not uncommon for something like that to happen to people who have had experiences like this. He claims to have never heard of MUFON.

I have never had an experience like this, but have seen enough documentary evidence to believe that this bears following up by someone who is trained to document this.

Let me repeat: I believe he has some unexplained encounter.

A Colorado pilot watched “five moving lights in the sky” that he was unable to identify on March 4, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) database.

“There were 3 lights in a triangular pattern with 2 more lights to the right of the first three,” the witness stated. “The two individual lights were spaced at equal distances from the group of three.”

The following is the unedited and as yet uninvestigated report filed with MUFON. Please keep in mind that most UFO reports can be explained as something natural or manmade. If Colorado MUFON investigates and reports back on this case, I will release an update.

CO, March 4, 2010 – Five moving lights in the sky moving east to west and then appeared to turn northwest. MUFON Case # 22174.

I had been sitting in my hottub on the north side of my house facing southwest. I had just changed seats to face the northwest and happened to notice lights above and to my north position moving east to west.

They had already passed overhead when I saw them.

There were 3 lights in a triangular pattern with 2 more lights to the right of the first three. The two individual lights were spaced at equal distances from the group of three.

My first thought was an aircraft but there were no red and green recognition lights.

Then I noticed that the middle light started moving closer to the farthest light and came to almost appear that it was one light. Then it moved back toward the middle position where it was when I first saw it. The lights then appeared to turn to the northwest and at that time I was unable to see it because of tree branches and homes. After I lost sight of these lights, I scanned the sky for any other lights, aircraft, satellites, etc., but did not see anything other than the familiar stars.

The pattern of the three lights was very small and I was unable to see if it was one unit or three seperate lights. I was trying to use background stars as a base of this observation and see if I could see any lights through the center of the three, but was unable to verify. The intensity of the brightness was that of slightly brighter than a satellite passing over, but had greater speed and then gave the appearance to turn. I did not notice any sound from the sighting and there were no other aircraft in the vicinity at the time of this observation.

I was in awe when I first saw this as I have almost always been able to identify objects in the sky both day and night. I have been a licensed pilot for 36 years and I am constantly watching aircraft, both civilian and military, as well as satellites which pass overhead in the evening. I was very intrigued to finally see something that I was unable to identify.

Would you be kind enough to let me know if anyone else spotted this pattern on the night indicated? I am very curious to know if I was the only one to observe this. Thank you.
