Former CNN science editor: Planet X on near collision course with Earth in 2012?

When discussing Planet X, one inevitably encounters this knee-jerk rejectionist rant. “Well, if Planet X really did exist, our government would tell us about it.”
They have, so those of us who actively research the topic ignore these rejectionist rants because we know that they know.
However, for those of you who are new to the topic, or are trying to discuss the subject with others, here are three undeniable speed bumps you can toss under those fast-moving rejectionist rascals. One of which, happens to be a smoking gun!
#1 — NASA and Are We Alone in the Universe?
In a 1992 video, Zecharia Sitchin first offered a revealng excerpt from a 1992 NASA press release.
The Are We Alone in the Universe? video was originally released in 1992 and was poorly re-mastered in 2003. The minute you play it, you know it’s authentic because of Sitchen’s typically wooden performance. Nonetheless, it is a treasure trove for Planet X (Nibiru) researchers.
Towards the very end of the program, the following CGI text appears, as though it were a last minute find, inserted during the final edit.

“Unexplained deviations in the orbits of Uranus and Neptune point to a large outer solar system body of 4 to 8 Earth masses, on a highly tilted orbit, beyond 7 billion miles from the sun.”
Sitchin is extremely precise in such matters and this NASA quote is a bombshell. Nonetheless, we vetted this so that we could use this quote in Planet X Forecast and 2012 Survival Guide. To do that, we started with a 2003 interview article on our site by Steve Russell. In that interview Sitchin states:

When discussing Planet X with rejectionists, expect the Eris retort. “Well they found it silly and it’s called the Eris, the Tenth Planet.” Ugh… there seems to be this enduring misperception that this lifeless rock is the Planet X / Nibiru that we’ve been looking for since the discovery of Uranus. Wrong.
Eris object is slightly larger than Pluto and little better than 60% the size of our own moon. That means it has nowhere near enough mass to be Planet X. Ergo, it was designated a dwarf planet along with Pluto.
However, in fairness to this object, it really did get a bum rap. It was originally named Xena in honor of a certain mega-hot TV babe. Cool name, but now there’s this Eris renaming nonsense. What’s with that: Revenge of the socially challenged astro-geeks, part deux?
Back to Sitchin…
In Steve Russell’s interview, Sitchin refers to The New York Times. Since he lives in New York, Sitchin follows that newspaper with great interest, as do others.
One in particular is John DiNardo. A few days ago, he emailed me two JPEG images of a 1983 article that appeared in the New York Times. It turned out to be a wonderful bit of synchronicity.
#2 — IRAS, Planet X and the New York Times
On January 26, 1983, NASA launched the Infrared Astronomical Satellite (IRAS) was launched on January 26, 1983. Independent Planet X researchers have long held the idea that the IRAS satellite imaged Planet X during its sky survey.

Clues Get Warm in the Search for Planet X

Something out there beyond the farthest reaches of the known solar system seems to be tugging at Uranus and Neptune. Some gravitational force keeps perturbing the two giant planets, causing irregularities in their orbits. The force suggests a presence far away and unseen, a large object that may be the long-sought Planet X.
Evidence assembled in recent years has led several groups of astronomers to renew the search for the 10th planet. They are devoting more time to visual observations with the 200-inch telescope at Mount Palomar in California. They are tracking two Pioneer spacecraft, now approaching the orbit of distant Pluto, to see if variations in their trajectories provide clues to the source of the mysterious force. And they are hoping that a satellite-borne telescope launched last week will detect heat “signatures” from the planet, or whatever it is out there.
The Infrared Astronomical Satellite was boosted into a 560-mile-high polar orbit Tuesday night from Vandenberg Air Force Base, CA. It represents an $80-million venture by the United States, Britain and the Netherlands. In the next six or seven months, the telescope is expected to conduct a wide-ranging survey of nearly all the sky, detecting sources not of ordinary light, but of infrared radiation, which is invisible to the human eye and largely absorbed by the atmosphere. Scientists thus hope that the new telescope will chart thousands or infrared-emitting objects that have gone undetected – stars, interstellar clouds, asteroids and, with any luck, the object that pulls at Uranus and Neptune.
The last time a serious search of the skies was made, it led to the discovery in 1930 of Pluto, the ninth planet. But the story begins more than a century before that, after the discovery of Uranus in 1781 by the English astronomer and musician William Herschel. Until then, the planetary system seemed to end with Saturn.
As astronomers observed Uranus, noting irregularities in its orbital path, many speculated that they were witnessing the gravitational pull of an unknown planet. So began the first planetary search based on astronomers’ predictions, which ended in the 1840’s with the discovery of Neptune almost simultaneously by English, French and German astronomers.
But Neptune was not massive enough to account entirely for the orbital behavior of Uranus. Indeed, Neptune itself seemed to be affected by a still more remote planet. In the late 19th century, two American astronomers, William H. Pickering and Percival Lowell, predicted the size and approximate location of the trans-Neptunian body, which Lowell called Planet X.
Years later, Pluto was detected by Clyde W. Tombaugh working at Lowell Observatory in Arizona. Several astronomers, however, suspected it might not be the Planet X of prediction. Subsequent observations proved them right. Pluto was too small to change the orbits of Uranus and Neptune; the combined mass of Pluto and its recently discovered satellite, Charon, is only one-fifth that of Earth’s moon.
Recent calculations by the United States Naval Observatory have confirmed the orbital perturbation exhibited by Uranus and Neptune, which Dr. Thomas C. Van Flandern, an astronomer at the observatory, says could be explained by “a single undiscovered planet.” He and a colleague, Dr. Robert Harrington, calculate that the 10th planet should be two to five times more massive than Earth and have a highly elliptical orbit that takes it some 5 billion miles beyond that of Pluto – hardly next-door but still within the gravitational influence of the Sun.
Some astronomers have reacted cautiously to the 10th-planet predictions. They remember the long, futile quest for the planet Vulcan inside the orbit of Mercury; Vulcan, it turned out, did not exist. They wonder why such a large object as a 10th planet escaped the exhaustive survey by Mr. Tombaugh, who is sure it is not in the two-thirds of the sky he examined. But according to Dr. Ray T. Reynolds of the Ames Research Center in Mountain View, CA, other astronomers “are so sure of the 10th planet, they think there’s nothing left but to name it.”
At a scientific meeting last summer, 10th-planet partisans tended to prevail. Alternative explanations for the outer-planet perturbations were offered. The something out there, some scientists said, might be an unseen black hole or neutron star passing through the Sun’s vicinity. Defenders of the 10th planet parried the suggestions. Material falling into the gravitational field of a black hole, the remains of a very massive star after its complete gravitational collapse, should give off detectable x-rays, they noted; no X-rays have been detected. A neutron star, a less massive star that has collapsed to a highly dense state, should affect the courses of comets, they said, yet no such changes have been observed.
More credence was given to the hypothesis that a “brown dwarf” star accounts for the mysterious force. This is the informal name astronomers give to celestial bodies that were not massive enough for their thermonuclear furnaces to ignite; perhaps like the huge planet Jupiter, they just missed being self-illuminating stars.
Most stars are paired, so it is not unreasonable to suggest that the Sun has a dim companion. Moreover, a brown dwarf in the neighborhood might not reflect enough light to be seen far away, said Dr. John Anderson of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, CA. Its gravitational forces, however, should produce energy detectable by the Infrared Astronomical Satellite.
Whatever the mysterious force, be it a brown dwarf or a large planet, Dr. Anderson said he was “quite optimistic” that the infrared telescope might fine it and that the Pioneer spacecraft could supply an estimate of the object’s mass. Of course, no one can be sure that even this discovery would define the outermost boundary of the solar system.
Shortly after we posted this article, John DiNardo must have toasted his library card to the max, because he sent in another great clipping. Oh yah baby, this is the one. The smoking gun!
#3 — IRAS, Planet X and the U.S.
News and World Report
A core premise of recent book, Planet X Forecast and 2012 Survival Guide is that Planet X is a brown dwarf. Dark Star Author, Andy Lloyd who is a frequent guest on Cut to the Chase, also insists that Sol’s companion in a brown dwarf.
Yowusa.com’s stand in the matter is based on the detailed historical accounts of previous Planet X flybys contained in The Kolbrin Bible. These prescient accounts of the Egyptian and Celtic authors clearly describe a brown dwarf.

Planet X — Is It Really Out There?

Shrouded from the sun’s light, mysteriously tugging at the orbits of Uranus and Neptune, is an unseen force that astronomers suspect may be PLanet X — a 10th resident of the Earth’s celestial neighborhood.
Last year, the infrared astronomical satellite (IRAS), circling in a polar orbit 560 miles from the Earth, detected heat from an object about 50 billion miles away that is now the subject of intense speculation.
“All I can say is that we don’t know what it is yet,” says Gerry Neugenbaur, director of the Palomar Observatory for the California Instititute of Technology. Scientists are hopeful that the one-way journeys of the Pioneer 10 and 11 space probes may help to locate the nameless body.
Some astronomers say the heat-emitting object is an unseen collapsed star or possibly a “brown dwarf” — a protostar that never got hot enough to become a star. However, a growing number of astronomers insist that the object is a dar, gaseous mass that is slowly evolving into a planet.
For decades, astromers have noted that the orbits of two huge, distant planets — Neptune and Uranus —deviate slightly from what they should be according to the laws of physics. Gravitational pull from Planet X would explain that deviation.
Morever, says Neugebaur, “if we can show that our own solar system is still creating planets, we’ll know that it’s happening around other stars, too.”
The next time a knee-jerk rejectionist rants on with “Well, if Planet X really did exist, our government would tell us about it,” you’ve got him by the short hairs.

As Earthbound humans, we are told that the search for intelligent life goes on the universe. But, at the same time, as Earthbound humans, we may have from time to time, come across various accounts of alleged sightings of UFOs. There have also been alleged accounts of human contact with invasive regressive aliens. It is understandable that many UFOs might be various unknown terrestrial aircraft shrouded in required military secrecy. Other UFOs might also have various other conventional explanations. However, the numerous amounts of eyewitness accounts of first hand alien close encounters suggest that at least some of these UFOs are likely to be some kind of alien spacecraft. This conclusion drawn by various learned researchers of UFO phenomena who include Dr. Michael Salla have led to various speculations on the origin of these alien spacecraft. Flying saucer over Norway? No, just a missile shooting itself down
Spectacular light show over northern mountainous region sends extra-terrestrial enthusiasts into overdrive
For UFO spotters it was all very exciting, for a while at least. An eerie spiral of blue and white light was seen in the clear night sky over Tromso, in northern Norway, on Wednesday, sending alien watchers into a frenzy.
Witnesses described it as a blue light that seemed to emerge from behind a mountain, while others said it stopped in mid-air and began moving in spirals.
Local resident Totto Eriksen told the Norwegian paper VG Nett the apparition looked like “a rocket that spun around and around and then went diagonally across the heavens”.
The Australian Herald Sun said UFO watchers were “buzzing after video footage emerged overnight of what they believe is the strongest proof yet that were are not alone in the universe”.
But it appears the explanation for the giant spiral is much more prosaic – a new Russian nuclear-capable missile suffered a failed test launch.
Russian submarine the Dmitry Donskoi test-fired the Bulava missile from the White Sea. It failed at the third stage, the Russian defence ministry confirmed.
It was seventh failure of 12 test launches, according to the news agency Interfax.
Pavel Felgenhauer, a Russian defence analyst, said the latest failure was a major embarrassment for the military and dealt a blow to Russia‘s bid to maintain a credible nuclear deterrent.
“The Russian defence industry has disintegrated to such an extent that it simply cannot make such a complicated system work. Technology and expertise have been lost,” he said.
Felgenhauer said the dazzling lights over Norway were typical of a missile failure. “Such lights and clouds appear from time to time when a missile fails in the upper layers of the atmosphere and have been reported before,” he said. “At least this failed test made some nice fireworks for the Norwegians.”

U.S. media: Rocket, not Santa, blamed for Norway spiral

(CNN) — It wasn’t a rogue galaxy closing in on Earth or a meteor hurtling toward the ground.
It also wasn’t an early visit from Santa Claus.
But all of those theories and more were suggested by puzzled callers to Norway’s space centre after a strange swirl of blue light — now linked to a failed Russian missile test — was spotted in the sky Wednesday morning.
“There were many interesting suggestions,” said Pal Brekke, senior adviser at the Norwegian Space Centre in Oslo. “The spiral images were very confusing. I didn’t have any clue at that point either.”
The phenomenon could be seen all over Norway, with witnesses describing a swirling light filling the sky around 8 a.m. and then seeming to explode.
The Russian Defense Ministry has confirmed the Russian Navy launched a Bulava ballistic missile on the same day, but has declined to make any connection with the lights seen over Norway.
It confirmed the missile was fired from the “Dmitry Donskoi” nuclear submarine, but would not comment on the submarine’s location at the time of launch.
Brekke said his center was bombarded with calls shortly after he arrived at work at 8 a.m.

He said he was stumped when the first still images arrived. But when video began rolling in, Brekke — who said he was the center’s first employee to theorize correctly — said the moving images made more sense.
“There, you could actually see something was spiraling very quickly,” he said. “Immediately, I thought this must be a rocket that had been launched.
“Typically, with rockets that fail, you will see it go out of control and start spiraling.”
Brekke said a fisherman off the coast of Norway has reported seeing a yellow cylinder fall out of the sky and almost hit his boat.
Truls Lynne Hansen, the head of Troms Geophysical Observatory in northern Norway, told CNN that missile launches were a common sight in the area.
“We have seen rockets being launched from north-west Russia, and the rocket range in Kiruna in northern Sweden, and from the neighboring Andenes in northern Norway, but nothing like this,” Hansen said.
In a written statement, the Russian Defense Ministry said the missile failed in the third stage of its trajectory.
“Unstable work of the engine of the [missile’s] third stage was detected by the monitoring systems,” the statement said. “The causes of the technical error are being established by a state commission.”
In addition to the calls at the space center, the Internet lit up Wednesday with theories about the mysterious glow. Early theories included an alien visit or something related to President Obama’s visit to Oslo on Thursday to collect his Nobel Peace Prize.
“I think it was clear to most people that it was not a UFO, as most people define a UFO,” said Erik Tandberg, a consultant to the space center. “Of course everything is a UFO until you know what it is. But most people think about UFOs as aliens and things like that.”
Hansen said a combination of circumstances made the strange light clearly visible. He attributes the blue haze to gases from the missile being lit by the sun.
“We have no sunshine here at the moment. The sun is not rising and is just below the horizon to the east. The sky was very, very clear, cold and clear and this means that gas that was released by the rocket was lit up by the sun from beneath. That was one of the reasons it was so clear,” he said.
Despite the relatively mundane explanation — at least as compared to aliens or St. Nick — Brekke said his office has never had so much excitement in one day.
The only thing I know is that the secretary has never been running around the space center so much,” he said. “It was really fun and interesting. Of course, it was nice that we actually guessed the right thing from the beginning.”

Internet abuzz with “First Official Contact” claims…
UFO watchers around the world are still buzzing after video footage emerged overnight of what they believe is the strongest proof yet that were are not alone in the universe.
Thousands of people bombarded Norway’s Meteorological Institute with reports of a spiralling blue light that appeared in the sky above Trondelag around 8.45am local time.
The light has been descirbed as a “giant blue catherine wheel” spiralling around a bright object and appeared at one stage to be anchored to the ground with a triangular blue beam.
The light then “exploded” into a ring of white fire, according to UK tabloid The Sun, prompting true believers on forums around the world to declare the moment “First Contact”.
“It looked like a rocket that spun around and around – and then went diagonally across the heavens,” Totto Eriksen, from Tromso in northern Norway, told The Sun.
As yet, no one has come forward to claim the phenomenon as a hoax, nor have scientists or military experts been able to explain the light show.
One theory is that it may have been a light show laser projected onto low clouds, but the dawn timing and large scale of the display makes it unlikely.
Stargate fans claim it’s a UFO entering the Earth’s atomosphere through a wormhole, and say it explains how UFOs seemingly appear and disappear at random in our skies.
One of the most popular conspiracy theories links the phenomenon to the Large Hadron Collider in Switzerland and rumours of a “Blackhole Project” under way at the giant underground atom-smasher.
Norwegian Space Centre chief Scientist Erik Tandberg told The Sun he agreed with many experts who believed it may have been a missile test from Russia, although Russia has quickly moved to deny any such testing.
“I agree with everyone in the science community that this light was the weirdest thing. I have never seen anything like this ever,” he said.
“The spiral suggests the object came off course and balance and entered the spiral movement. Leaking rocket fuel could account for the blue light.
“But I know that the military have denied this explanation. So we could be looking at an entirely new natural phenomenon.”

Moon’s origin in Earth’s orbit remains enigmatic

It has been established beyond all reasonable doubt that the Moon is not what it appears; that it is not just another satellite orbiting a planet, Earth, but an entity which has thrown the minds of some of the greatest thinkers and scientific brains into a quandary and bewilderment unprecedented in the history of astronomy. Why haven’t you heard about this? Another government cover-up? How could Moon mysteries have anything to do with government secrecy, and moreover could it relate to the suppression of the space programme?
Let us outline some of the extraordinary anomalies and mysteries surrounding this puzzle. Clearly not all data will be equally reliable but the abundance of interrelated information nevertheless gives an overall picture which can be determined with some certainty. The first academic enigma must surely be that the Moon is apparently in its wrong orbit for its size. However, this would presumably be based on its assumed density. Technical reports claim a density of 3.3 for the Moon compared with 5.5 for Earth. Astronomy data indicates that the internal regions of the Moon are less dense than the outer, giving rise to the inevitable but outrageous speculation that it could be hollow. The eminent and late scientist Carl Sagan, a typical sceptic, had made the statement, “A natural satellite cannot be a hollow object.” But meaning here that if it is hollow, it is not a natural satellite — and therefore artificial.
Possibly the strongest evidence for it to be a ‘hollow object’ comes from the fact that when meteors strike the Moon, the latter rings like a bell. More specifically when the Apollo crew in November 20, 1969 released the lunar module, after returning to the orbiter, the module impact with the Moon caused their seismic equipment to register a continuous reverberation like a bell for more than an hour. The same effect occurred with Apollo 13’s third stage which caused the Moon to ring for over three hours. So what’s going on with the Moon?
Two Soviet scientists, Mikhail Vasin and Alexander Shcherbakov, have spent much of their careers examining the facts compiled on lunar phenomena. Their conclusion is that the Moon is artificial, possibly a hollowed-out planet, and that it was steered from some distant region of the galaxy into a circular orbit around our planet (hence the extraordinary mystery of rock and Moon-dust age variations). They claim that intellectual life has existed in the Moon for eons.
In 1968 as Apollo 8 moved into orbit around the Moon, the astronauts spotted a colossal extraterrestrial object, which then had disappeared on the next orbit. Photographs were taken, of course, but not released to the public. On another occasion when the lunar excursion module was down to 4-5 miles from the Moon’s surface astronauts witnessed a UFO suddenly rise from a crater and rapidly disappear. In 1969, “Buzz” Aldrin was checking the lunar surface from orbit, when two UFOs appeared, moved towards the Apollo rocket, hovered nearby, then to Aldrin’s utter astonishment the UFOs joined to form one entity.
Furthermore, astronauts of Apollo 11 saw a spacefleet of UFOs lined up in a crater. Almost every Moon mission involved encounters with UFOs or UFO sightings, not to mention the discovery of many bases on the Moon’s surface. Renowned astronomer Patrick Moore discovered over one hundred dome-like buildings. In fact, about one thousand such bases, dome-like structures of diameter around 700 feet, have been witnessed. Astronomy records extending back 200 years indicate no such artefacts until about the 1950s (remember the book entitledAlternative III?). Many of the UFO encounters by the astronauts were stated to be of a positive nature in which unintrusive assistance was given.
It has been found that asteroids and meteors not only create shallow craters on the Moon’s surface but produce a convex floor to the crater instead of concave as expected, supporting the idea of a rigid shell. Countless other pieces of evidence from astronomers and NASA scientists began to reveal that some 2-3 miles down there appear to be dense layers of metal — which would explain why the craters were convex. But the most astonishing conclusion is that the only theory which can completely explain all the anomalies is that the Moon is hollow with a shell about 20 miles thick –mostly metal. Note that mascons (higher concentrations of mass) found in the marias cause fluctuations in gravity and have never been satisfactorily explained.
Moreover, these structural anomalies were supported by two publications, one Time Magazine, which unwittingly revealed the gravity value of the Moon relative to Earth by publishing the distance from Earth to Moon of the null point between them, indicating a gravitational force some 60 -70 % of Earth. Furthermore, some people noticed the feeble plumage of the rocket exhaust as the module rose from the Moon’s surface—explained away by NASA as due to the vacuum. But what about some of the telltale and suspicious features observed during the first Armstrong and Aldrin Moon landing.
The American flag was seen briefly to wave in… a breeze? But we are told there is no air on the Moon. The flag was then starched. Also we saw dust kicked up by the astronauts clearly drifting in… what? Dust particles do not drift in vacuum — they cling together. And what about the feeble leaps of the astronauts off the Moon’s surface — were their spacesuits and backpacks really so heavy? The Moon is supposed to be about one-sixth the gravity of Earth.
Thus we now know that air is present, and the feeble rocket exhaust could not be due to a vacuum. Moreover, the exhaust was apparently too weak to account for the necessary power to escape from such a gravitational pull in relationship to the size of the module, which was not large enough to contain the necessary fuel to escape the Moon’s high gravity. Was antigravity propulsion secretly being used as a booster?
The covert government have long since sent ‘astronauts’ into outer space in antigravity spacecrafts. They apparently had the so-called cosmospheres about 40 years ago, some larger than the old and massive dirigibles. They seized the antigravity research data from the Nazis, and have since then reverse-engineered captured spacecrafts and negotiated deals with aliens involving antigravity technologies.
The more thorough have been the investigations of the Moon the more bizarre the results have been. Probably one of the most startling was that moonquakes occurred like clockwork. Moreover, the fluctuations on each occasion were the same. This is impossible for natural conditions which always obey fractal distributions. Furthermore, a study of rock samples reveal an age of 5.3 billion years, and that not only is the Moon older than the Earth, estimated to be about 4.6 billion years, but that it is older than the solar system (and by theoretical standards as old as the universe).
What about the surface of the Moon? Several television viewers wrote explaining that they spotted one of the astronauts pick up what appeared to be a glass bottle and remark, “My God, I don’t believe it, look at this …” Then the television screen went blank. Other viewers observed the extreme difficulty astronauts had when drilling down a few inches into the Moon’s marias and that when the drill bit was pulled out, metal shavings were visible. Rocks were found to contain brass, mica, titanium, and elements uranium 236 and Neptunium 237 not previously found in nature.
Astronomy literature reports the sighting of a 12-mile bridge-like structure over the Sea of Crisis in 1954 by John O’Neile, and in the 1950s astronomer Morris K. Jessup realised that UFOs had bases on the Moon (and so does the government of course). Other strange lunar phenomena are: the observation by Dr. Frank Harris of a black body on the surface, 250 miles long and 50 miles wide; clouds and lightning; strange moving shadows and objects, and spire-like structures thousands of feet high; a huge boulder with tracks (behind it) from inside a crater to the rim (uphill); the shrinking, over a period of time, of the crater Luna from six miles in diameter to one and a half miles; ‘hill’ effects in craters appearing and disappearing in a few hours; over 800 substantial observations made by scientists of blinking and flashing lights; the results of NASA photographs of the lunar surface, indicating several large pyramid structures, strange rifts in the surface with entrances, massive girders, machinery and some 1000 kilometre blocks of metal, alongside tears in the surface. This reveals massive subsurface interior ‘plumbing’, huge crosses a mile long, and enormous excavating equipment.
Professional astronomers have gradually been discouraged from investigating these observations, referred to as Transient Lunar Phenomena, and all such Fortean observations are now only of interest to the amateur.
Our satellite has long since been established as being extremely dry but this information has been contradicted by the appearance of clouds on the surface. On one occasion a cloud of water vapour appeared covering more than 100 square miles. And it has been reported that strange clouds appear at lightning speed. The capture theory that the Moon was pulled into its orbit by the Earth was once favoured but the circular orbit of the Moon invalidated it. As already mentioned the Moon is the wrong size and in the wrong orbit. It is too big and too far out. It does not rotate relative to Earth; the same side always faces the Earth. And what about the amazing ‘coincidence’ of the eclipse phenomenon. The position and size of the Moon is precisely that necessary to eclipse the Sun’s disc.
Scientific experts, including NASA investigators believe that the Moon is hollow — it is the only explanation. The velocity of sound has been found to increase with depth and at 40 miles it is too fast for the speed of propagation through rock substance.
‘Spaceship Moon’ is the brainchild of the two Soviet researchers but many others agree with the theory, including NASA scientists at JPL and an Oxford University physicist. The capture theory is now back in favour but with a significant adjustment that the Moon was steered into orbit.
It might be worth a comment on the recent ‘conspiracy theory’ that astronauts never actually went to the Moon. DVDs and television programmes have proffered that, in particular, photographs allegedly taken on the Moon were faked. In fact one can see clearly in the photographs that the shadows of objects on the Moon were not parallel as they would be if the shadows were cast by the Sun, rather than by studio lighting. Further evidence has been given. But we may know from earlier suspicions that NASA has a propensity for faking scenes — for example, the view of the interior of the shuttle faking an outer-space mission when actually on the ground. Thus the conclusion, and personal opinion of the author, is that both scenarios are correct: astronauts did land on the Moon, and NASA has produced faked photographs.
Was the space programme cut because further encounters with UFOs might blow the government cover-up? Even more important than this, allowing the public to increase their confront and interest in the subject of Extraterrestrials would eventually lead to a worldwide awakening of the human race’s true heritage, the causes of our downfall, the falsification of our history, and ultimately the disclosure and eradication of the control mechanism.
We see that the Moon mysteries are intimately bound up with extraterrestrial sightings and involvement, in particular, the conclusion of the two Russian scientists that the Moon is artificial and hollow. Is this a favourable omen for the human race or a harbinger of something more ominous. Why was the Moon directed to retain continuously a dark side? A side of the Moon we never see. Also police records referring to increased crime during the full Moon are commonplace. A study of ET material of which literature today abounds, strongly indicates that the nature of the Moon has a sinister purpose and plays a role in manipulating man’s evolution.

What is Planet X (PX)? What proof is there that PX exists? What effect is PX having on the Earth? What may happen in the near future?
I have been interested in paranormal phenomena, metaphysics, UFOs/aliens, the New World Order and related topics for many years. I discovered Planet X about ten years ago when I found Zechariah Sitchin’s book The 12th Planet on a library bookshelf amongst other books about the paranormal. I’m not a history buff, which is why I didn’t consider reading it before. I finally picked it up and read it from cover to cover.
Sitchin’s book piqued my interest in the subject. Subsequently, I read everything I could get my hands on about PX, including information on the Internet. I was recently interviewed on Internet talk radio about this topic and have another interview scheduled on Sept. 1st, on bbs.org, Odyssey, Mike Schultz, 8pm (PST).
The topic of PX is censored in the mainstream media. Back in December, 1983, the Washington Post ran an article about the sighting of PX by infrared satellite near the orbit of Neptune. Astronomers noticed the orbits of Neptune and Pluto were being disturbed by an anomalous object. It was a flash in the pan. There has been no other reports in the mainstream media about PX, other than an occasional debunking of its existence.
What is Planet X? It has been identified as a comet, a planet, and a starship. Immanuel Velikovsky wrote about cyclical catastrophic events which coincide with the approach of Planet X into our solar system every 3600 years, although he didn’t identify PX as the cause of the great upheavals in Earth in Upheaval, Worlds in Collision.

Velikovsky provides ample geological evidence for the sudden devastation of Earth, humans and animals, approximately 3600 years ago (1628 B.C). Other geologists have corroborated his findings since he wrote those books in the 1950’s.
According to my research, PX, the size of Jupiter, is presently in our solar system and is heading towards Earth. It is in a retrograde orbit. Its overwhelming magnetic properties and gravitational field has catastrophic effects on nearby celestial bodies. A source on the Internet states PX will be visible in the Southern Hemisphere in June, 2009. Now it can be seen by satellite or observatory telescopes. As it nears the Earth, its mass, magnetic and gravitational effects will be apparent in severe climate change, frequent and higher magnitude earthquakes and volcanic activity, and other geological disturbances.
The projected time of a PX close encounter is the end of 2011 – 2012. I am convinced that PX is a starship inhabited by a hostile race of ETs called the Nefilim; a race of giants that once inhabited Earth during the Sumerian civilization and for thousands of years prior to that era.

Lights over Norway dubbed Stargate baffles world’s top scientists

A mysterious giant spiral of light that had dominated the sky over Norway has stunned experts — who believe the space spectacle is an entirely new astral phenomenon.
Thousands of awe-struck Norwegians bombarded the Meteorological Institute to ask what the incredible light — that could be seen in the pre-dawn sky for hundreds of miles — could possibly be.
The phenomenon has been dubbed ‘Star-Gate’ — as the world’s top scientists and the military lined up to admit they were baffled.
Theories ranging from a misfired Russian missile, meteor fireball, never-before-seen type of northern light, ‘black hole’ and even alien activity were all proposed.
Witnesses across Norway, who first glimpsed the space show at 8.45am, all described seeing a spinning ‘Catherine wheel-style’ spiral of white light, centred around a bright moon-like star.
A blue “streaming tail” appeared to anchor the spiral to earth, before the light “exploded” into a rotating ring of white fire.
Phenomenon … unexplained sighting
The spiral spectacle — which lasted for two minutes — was seen by vast swathes of the Scandinavian country’s almost five million population, with sightings as far north as Finnmark to Trondelag in the south.
Totto Eriksen, from Tromso, in northern Norway, was one of the thousands who bombarded Norwegian newspapers with sightings — after nearly crashing his car on spotting the spiral overhead.
He said: “I was driving my daughter to school when this light spun and exploded in the sky.
“We saw it from the Inner Harbour in Tromso. It looked like a rocket that spun around and around – and then went diagonally across the heavens.
“It looked like the moon was coming over the mountain – but then turned into something totally different.
Blue tail … stunned Norwegians
“People just stopped and stared on the pier – it was like something from a Hollywood movie.”
Axel Berg, from Alta, also in the north of the country, added: “It was like a giant spiral – a shooting star that spun around and around.
“I initially thought it was a projector but then the ‘tail light’ left and the spiral remained spinning still.”
Norway’s most celebrated astronomer, Knut Jorgen Roed Odegaard, said he had never seen anything like the spiral before.
Mystery … missile theory
He said: “This was seen over an exceptionally large area of the country – in all of north Norway and the Trondelag.
“My first thought was that it was a fireball meteor – but it lasted far too long.
“It may have been a missile from Russia – but I can’t guarantee that is the answer.
“I rang the Air Traffic Control tower in Tromse. They said it was over in two minutes. To me, that is far too long for this to be an astronomical phenomenon.
“This spiral shape is unique. It is definitely not a variation of the aurora borealis – northern lights.”
Astonishing … spinning UFO
Chief Scientist Erik Tandberg, at the Norwegian Space Centre, said that he too was “totally amazed” by the spiral.
He agreed with many other experts that the spiral pattern could have been caused by a missile from Russia — something the Russian military have strongly denied.
Dr Tandberg said: “I agree with everyone in the science community that this light was the weirdest thing. I have never seen anything like this ever.
“It may have been anything from an exploding missile whose launch went wrong – to a comet or other celestial object that for some reason has been behaving strangely.
“If it was a missile – most likely from the launch base in Pletsevsk in Russia or one of the Russian submarines or even from the European Space Agency base in Kiruna – then we are talking about a rocket launch that has gone wrong.
“The spiral suggests the object came off course and balance and entered the spiral movement. Leaking rocket fuel could account for the blue light.
“But I know that the military have denied this explanation. So we could be looking at an entirely new natural phenomenon.”
Meanwhile, Nick Pope, former UFO analyst for the Ministry of Defence, yesterday added that the Norwegian sighting was a “real mystery”.
He said: “My first thought was this was a meteor, a fireball, or debris from an old satellite burning up in the earth’s atmosphere.
“But the spiral motion makes this unlikely. This is truly bizarre. It’s a real mystery.
“A meteor or a fireball would simply travel in a straight line but for something to spiral in this way appears to go against the laws of physics.
“Some may think it is the Northern Lights but they illuminate the sky with a green glow.
“This is completely different from any image of the Northern Lights that I have ever seen.
“It’s ironic that something like this should happen the very week after the MoD terminated its UFO project. It just goes to show how wrong that decision was.”

Bizarre Spiral Lights in Norway’s Skies Spark Alien and Nuclear Missile Investigations

Confusion and curiosity has spread across all of Norway and the world with people wondering what was the spiral blue light display over the nation.
A nuclear missile? Aliens and UFOs? A natural phenomenon? A combination?
Witnesses said a blue light emerged into the sky from behind a mountain in the northern part of Norway by the city of Tromso. It stopped in mid-air, then began to move in circles and within seconds a huge spiral that looks computer-generated covered the sky. Following, a green-blue beam of light shot out from its center and lasted about 10-12 minutes before disappearing.
Russian newspapers claimed yesterday that the alien-like lights were the result of a failed test launch of a missile.
A Bulava missile was fired from the Dmitry Donskoi submarine in the White Sea early morning on Wednesday; however, it failed at its third stage according to newspapers in Moscow Thursday.
The missile launch was denied by the Russian government Wednesday and Thursday morning. Later Thursday, reports claimed the Russian government notified Norway of a window of time when a missile might be tested.
The Russian Defense Ministry will not officially confirm or comment on the test.
The news agency Interfax claims it was the seventh failure of 12 test launches.
Theoretically it can travel 5,000 miles and carry ten nuclear weapons for separate targets.
Russian defence analyst Pavel Felgenhauer said the latest failure was a major embarrassment for the military and stunted Russia’s attempt at maintaining a credible nuclear deterrent.
“The Russian defence industry has disintegrated to such an extent that it simply cannot make such a complicated system work. Technology and expertise have been lost,” he said.
Felgenhauer said the bizarre spiral lights over Norway were typical of a missile failure.
“Such lights and clouds appear from time to time when a missile fails in the upper layers of the atmosphere and have been reported before,” he said. “At least this failed test made some nice fireworks for the Norwegians.”
And probably gave them a heafty dose of cancer.
Because the Russians could not resist polluting the atmosphere and endangering people and animals, they launched another missile yesterday: a land-based Topol ballistic missile from the Kapustin Yar missile range on the lower Volga River according to NBC News space analyst James Oberg.
He said that missile sparked a fire of UFO sightings from Chelyabinsk, Yekaterinburg, Ufa and other cities.
That rocket also created a spiral plume like Wednesday’s, but it was not as stunning.
Russia’s Itar-Tass news agency said Thursday’s test launch was successful, and the missile returned to land in the Sary Shagan military reservation in eastern Kazakhstan.
“I continue to get suggestion that the third-stage spin is a ‘feature,’ not a malfunction, and may be associated with guidance, or decoy deploy, or enhancing hardness against U.S. boost-phase antimissile weapons,” Oberg wrote in an email to NBC.
Obama Nobel Peace Prize Coincidence:
A very strange coincidence is that the supposed nuclear missiles were launched as the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to President Obama Thursday in Oslo, Norway. Is it a coincidence or were these missiles planned for that very event?
Were the two events really even created by nuclear missiles? Maybe they were alien UFOs.
A large population around the world believes stealth aircraft and nuclear technology was introduced to people by aliens in the early 20th Century, and this technology is being developed at top-secret testing sites in the U.S. at bases, such as Area 51, Russia, Germany, U.K., France and other nations.
Only further investigation and time will tell the origin of these technologies.

The UFO “WHY?” Questions

I have been fortunate enough to lecture (usually “Flying Saucers ARE Real”) over 700 times in 18 countries. My audiences, mostly college and professional groups, seem to have no problem accepting the detailed factual data that I present leading to my conclusions that SOME UFOs are alien spacecraft and that the subject of flying saucers represents a kind of Cosmic Watergate. But what seems to be of most concern, judging by the Question and Answer sessions, are the “WHY?” questions. Why would saucers crash? Why would aliens visit Earth? Why doesn’t the government tell us what it knows? Why would aliens not land on the White House lawn or at the United Nations? Why would people fake MJ-12 documents? Why do you say SETI stands for Silly Effort To Investigate? Why have you kept at it for 39 years? Why hasn’t the government taken you out? Perhaps my answers will help the reader answer his “WHY?” questions, or lead to more such questions.
THE UFO “WHY?” QUESTIONS
1. WHY have you concluded that the evidence is overwhelming that Earth is being visited by intelligently controlled Extraterrestrial Spacecraft?
The simplest answer is that it is the only conclusion merited by the enormous amount of evidence. In my lectures I review 5 large scale scientific studies and ask after each one how many have read it. Typically fewer than 2% have read any. I note the 5000-plus physical trace cases that Ted Phillips has collected from over 70 countries. In these people see a craft land and then take off leaving behind various markings on the soil such as burn circles, landing gear marks, small footprints, dried out rings of soil, etc. These are not crop circles where normally no saucer is seen. About 1/6 of these cases involve reports of small beings. I refer to the more than 1000 abduction cases that have been investigated by Budd Hopkins, David Jacobs, John Mack, and Raymond Fowler and the Betty and Barney Hill case as recorded by John G. Fuller. I review the outstanding work by Marjorie Fish clearly indicating that Betty’s star map makes sense and provides information not previously known to us. Furthermore, I have spent time at 20 archives, had a security clearance for 14 years, and find it perfectly obvious that crucial data has been withheld and many government people have lied with regard to UFOs. Saying some UFOs are of ET origin, of course, doesn’t answer other questions such as WHY are aliens coming here, WHY haven’t I seen one, where are they from, etc., etc.
2. WHY don’t the aliens, if they are real, just land on the White House lawn and say “Take me to your leader.”?
Obviously I don’t speak for any aliens. However, let us note three facts:
A. The White House is in a forbidden flying zone. Our response to intruders in such zones is to take immediate action to escort the intruders away or shoot them down. As far back as the summer of 1952 when, in July, UFOs did fly over the White House, orders were given to military interceptors to shoot down UFOs if they don’t land when instructed to do so. This is described in detail in Frank Feschino Jr.’s new book “Shoot Them Down.” Major General Roger Ramey proclaimed that interceptors had been scrambled hundreds of times without any luck. As an indication of the zeal of pilots, I have heard of at least 7 specific cases in which the UFOs zapped attacking earthling aircraft. Tim Good in his new book “Need to Know” recounts similar cases. I am working on a claim by a pilot that UFOs took out 20 of our planes in Europe in the early 1950s.
B. It may come as a surprise to many Americans, but the President of the USA doesn’t speak for Planet Earth. After all who elected him World President? Certainly not the billion people from India or the 1.3 billion people in China. Obviously the UN also does not speak for Planet Earth, either.
C. Normally, negotiations only take place between roughly equal parties. Surely it is not difficult to see that aliens have technology far in advance of earthling technology. Their vehicles are clearly faster, more maneuverable, and have access to huge space carriers (mother ships) with lord-knows-what capability. They have no reason to negotiate when they can already do what they please.
3. WHY in the world would aliens want to come here if, as you have claimed, we are a primitive society whose major activity is clearly tribal warfare?
Answers to this question depend very much on one’s picture of the local galactic neighborhood and of the situation on our planet. The SETI cultists seem to think we are the Crown of Creation and that there may be “as many” as 50,000 civilizations in our Milky Way Galaxy, which has a few hundred billion stars. It is almost 100,000 light years across which, according to Frank Drake, means there may be another civilization “only” 1000 light years away. This would, of course, make us very special as one of the elite civilizations. I think that there are probably many advanced civilizations within our local neighborhood on planets around some of the 2300 stars within 54 light years, especially the 46 that are very similar to the sun. The driving fact here is that we have only had fancy technology for perhaps 100 years. But the earth is about 4.5 billion years old and has been suitable for life for well over a billion years.
Just down the street, 39.4 light years away, we find a pair of sun-like stars, Zeta 1 and Zeta 2 Reticuli. These are only an 1/8 of a light year apart from each other, but are a billion years older than the sun. In other words, there has been a great deal of time for other civilizations to establish themselves. Having an easily observable neighbor nearby would provide far more incentive for the development of interstellar travel than we have out here in the boondocks. My view is, per a fine analogy from physicist Beatriz Gabo Rivera, that we are like the gorillas in a nature preserve in Africa who know nothing about what is going on outside the preserve. I think aliens have been traipsing around the neighborhood for a very long time indeed. I think it is hilarious that Dr. Seth Shostak, one of the noisier SETI guys, says there is nobody at ZR 1 or ZR 2, because they were listened to by a Southern Radio Observatory 10 years ago. One would think he knows what equipment and frequency alien communicators way ahead of us would use, and that they are trying to attract our attention, which is totally absurd.
Answers also depend greatly on how difficult it is to travel within the neighborhood. If one is a SETI cultist noting (as on the terrible Peter Jennings, Feb. 24, 2005, TV mockumentary) that our fastest spacecraft is the Voyager probe and that it would take 70,000 years to get to the nearest star, trips would be very uncommon indeed. A much more realistic approach is to note that Voyager hasn’t had a propulsion system on it since it left Earth. It is coasting, helped by some cosmic freeloading. Can we estimate the time it takes to cross the ocean by throwing a bottle in? Can we tell how long it would take to fly from New York to Los Angeles by putting a feather in the air? It took Charles Lindberg 33 hours to cross the Atlantic. The Concorde did it in just a few hours. The space station goes around the entire earth in 90 minutes. Electromagnetic signals take 1/7 of a second to circumscribe the earth.
Remember, we have just started on our technological kick. Think back to 1900. Note no TV or radio or microwaves or nuclear power plants or satellites or DNA testing or lasers or computers or airplanes or rockets or nuclear weapons or transplanted organs. I am convinced that, unless we stupidly destroy ourselves, there will be a time when star travel is not considered any more far out than crossing the Atlantic on a 747 is today. I recently flew nonstop from Newark, New Jersey, to Hong Kong, China, in less than 17 hours. Nuclear submarines circumnavigate the globe without surfacing. Obviously there are those who think star travel is impossible. If that were true, which it isn’t, obviously nobody could be coming here from the stars.
Think of all the people going through O’Hare Airport in a year and the huge variety of reasons for travel. To get the ball rolling, here are some reasons for coming here. I am sure the reader can think of more.
A. Graduate students doing their thesis work on the development of a primitive society, on a planet where, amazingly, there is no planetary government, and where there are many different languages; on various strange biological specimens, or on genetic variations of the intelligent beings.
B. Broadcasters with weekly shows such as “Idiocy in the Boondocks.”
C. Mining engineers similar to those who went to California and the Klondike and Australia for gold, or to Texas and the Middle East for oil. As it happens, the earth is the densest planet in the solar system, so would be expected to have more of the rare but very important very heavy metals such as gold, uranium, rhenium, platinum, tungsten, osmium, etc. These are all much denser than lead. We know from studying star spectra that they are rare. They also have very special properties.
D. Mining engineers extracting more common metals from the nodules on the bottom of the ocean and from the asteroids between Mars and Jupiter. We have been talking about doing this. Obviously war is much more important than ocean mining to us, so we build nuclear submarines to stay in the depths of the ocean carrying their multitude of nuclear tipped missiles. There are also abundant supplies of so-called rare earths, many used in the electronics and nuclear industries. It should not be forgotten that a century ago the primary use for uranium was to prepare yellow glazes for pottery. Zirconium and titanium were essentially worthless. Now nuclear navies use zirconium based alloys because of their splendid nuclear and anticorrosion properties. Titanium is used in aircraft like the SR-71 because of its high strength and low density.
E. Operators of refueling and rest and relaxation centers on the back side of the moon or in the depths of the ocean or in the asteroid belt.
F. Visitors checking on old colonies established by their ancestors. Perhaps there were many different ones which might explain why we have black, brown, red, yellow and white races.
G. Jailers. This may be a penal colony on which aliens dropped off their bad boys and girls and that is why we are so nasty to each other. Georgia and Australia were first settled by convicts. Letting the convicts go bother other civilizations who, unlike us, have learned to live peacefully, may be a no-no in the galactic rule book.
H. Vacationers. This may be a recreation center. Notice how many people visit Hawaii and Las Vegas and Orlando. If the travel wasn’t easy, how many would venture forth to see Mickey Mouse or gaming tables or surfing beaches?
I. Specimen gathererers for ET zoos and aquariums. We are still finding new specimens.
J. Local galactic horticultural societies collecting specimens for their displays and genetic cross breeding.
K. Medical researchers. They may have to evaluate the genetic material of loads of specimens to find genetic defects or super-special genes. There are a number of conditions whose frequency in the population is quite small (for example, only one person in 14,000 has hemophilia) so many specimens must be checked.
L. Honymooners. Perhaps this is the honeymoon capital for this corner of the neighborhood. Special rates for a week on Earth… side trips to the moon and Mars…
M. Cartographers. Local neighborhood maps may describe, for example, the equivalent of English coaling stations in the 19th century.
N. Sports enthusiasts. There may be special excursions to observe various such events. Don’t forget that a World Championship Chess match was held in Iceland.
O. Scouts seeking the best site for a new amusement park in the solar system.
P. Weapons inspectors. If we make the eminently reasonable assumption that every advanced civilization is concerned about its own survival and security, than we would expect that our development of Weapons of Mass Destruction and the means for delivering them in the local neighborhood would be of great concern. Clearly after World War II it should take less than a century for us to master fission and fusion and other new technologies to allow us to take our brand of friendship/hostility… out there. Thus, a logical reason to visit is to quarantine us until we develop a technique for learning to live at peace with each other. No galactic federation new-member committee would allow us to join. Too primitive.I suspect that the SETI cultists think they would be welcome guests. Not very likely.
Q. Producers. Having worked on a lot of motion picture documentaries at many locations, I would suggest perhaps some visitors are planning epic fiction and factual movies for film companies at home… shooting on location hither and yon.
4. WHY is the government not telling what it knows?
Are they afraid of War of the Worlds panic? I hardly think so. After all, New Jersey was being destroyed by Martians. What could we do against them? Panic was not inappropriate. First we have to recognize there is a Cosmic Watergate and a long history of government lies about UFOs such as I described in Ref. 1, which lists lies from the FBI, CIA, USAF, NSA, etc. Some want to insist that (A) governments can’t keep secrets, and (B) the real secret is that they don’t know what is going on and can’t admit that either.
I disagree with both. A few examples of secret-keeping that have leaked out: The Manhattan Engineering District employed 130,000 people to develop the atomic bomb at a cost of several billion dollars in total secrecy during World War II. The Allies broke the German code during World War II and had 12,000 people working at Bletchley Park in the UK intercepting, decoding and translating German military communications. If the secret had come out, the Germans would have changed their codes. There was really nothing in public until 25 years later despite the obviously great improvements in technology. We also had broken the Japanese military codes — again in secret. With regard to B, note that the military agencies have monitoring systems that provide far more information than we civilians can obtain — and in secret.
The Naval Research Laboratory finally admitted in 1995 that it had launched a bunch of Corona electromagnetic intelligence satellites to monitor Soviet radar and communications systems starting in 1960, after 12 secret failures. The first one that worked provided more data than all the previous secret U-2 flights that preceded it. The Soviets knew about the U-2, but dared not admit that they couldn’t do anything about it. The American people had not been informed. Similarly the Soviets had shot down a number of military reconnaissance aircraft probing Russia, North Korea, and China causing the loss of 166 crew members. Their families were lied to: unfortunate accident, crashed at sea, etc. It was not until 2001 that the USA had a meeting with families of the crew members that they were told what happened, even though most of the losses occurred in the 1940s, 50s, and 60s. Medals were distributed. William Burrows tells the story in his book “By Any Means Necessary” (Ref. 2).
The National Reconnaissance Office first admitted in 2005 that it had launched 7 Poppy satellites between 1962 and 1971. Their function was to conduct very sophisticated monitoring of electronic and radar installations on Soviet ships. Thousands of people were involved.
So yes, indeed, secrets can be kept. The annual US Black Budget is estimated at 30-40 billion dollars. That is a lot of secrecy.
So WHY keep UFOs secret?
A. All major countries and many terrorist groups would very much like to duplicate the flight technology of the saucers. They can literally fly circles around our vehicles, move at very high speed, make right angle turns, move straight up and down — typically with little noise, no visible engines, no exhaust. They would make wonderful weapons delivery and defensive systems. Since we have recovered wreckage at least as early as 1947 (see “Crash at Corona”, Ref. 3) we would have set up a highly classified project (call it Operation Majestic 12 as described in my book “TOP SECRET/MAJIC” (Ref. 4)) to try both to evaluate the wreckage and to obtain measurements of flight characteristics using airborne and spaceborne and earth-based radar sets, cameras, electromagnetic sensors, and other instrumentation. Surely governments have very much more sophisticated instruments and observation platforms than do private individuals. The key rule here is that one can’t tell one’s friends without telling one’s enemies. It appears that there have been many UFO crashes including ones overseas (Varginha, Brazil, for example). There is a long history of countries gathering and evaluating crashed vehicles of their enemies. This does not require a conspiracy; everybody has the same self interest concerns.
B. Each country worries about its enemies determining the secrets of saucer technology before they do and must be concerned about how to defend against new vehicles and also how to learn what the other guy has already learned. Soviet spies at Los Alamos apparently shortened the time it took the Soviets to test their first A-bomb (1949) by at least a year.
C. What if an announcement were made, by highly trusted individuals around the world, such as the Queen and the Pope, saying that indeed SOME UFOs are ET spacecraft? Here are some things I believe would happen:
(1) Church attendance would increase.
(2) Mental hospital admissions would increase.
(3) The stock market would go down; uncertainty is always the enemy.
(4) Based on my more than 600 college lectures, the younger generation, which, unlike me, was never alive when there wasn’t a space program, would push for a new view of ourselves as EARTHLINGS instead of as Americans, Canadians, Greeks, Peruvians, etc. Many would think that would be great. But I know of no government on Earth that wants its citizens to owe their primary allegiance to the planet (where it belongs) instead of to individual national governments. Nationalism is the only game in town. I believe that alien visitors — they may be our landlords, for all we know — think of us as earthlings even though, because of our military traffic, they would be well aware of different ruling groups in different places.
D. A small group of religious fundamentalists (Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson come to mind) have already loudly proclaimed that UFOs are the work of the devil and there is no other intelligent life outside Earth. What an insult to the notion of an all powerful GOD! They would be up the creek without a religious paddle if an announcement were to be made. They have had a great deal of political clout.
E. Making an announcement would require that governments admit they have been lying through their teeth for decades. I don’t know of any government that wants to do that.
F. If an announcement were carefully made without the scare mongering of “War of the Worlds”, a lot of people would think that surely, aliens, who can come here, must be far more advanced technologically than are we, since we can’t go out there. This would strongly suggest that soon there would be new methods of energy production, air and ground transport, computers and communication systems, i.e. economic chaos. We are not very good at large scale economic changes in a hurry. Think of the Soviet Union which, at our strong demands, had democracy, elections, freedom, capitalism. On the average, except for the high price of oil, are Russians better off today than they were 17 years ago??
G. Because I am convinced that military pilots in many countries have been disintegrated or “disappeared” by UFOs, I think governments would all be very resistant to telling their citizens that we tried to attack UFOs and they returned the favor — only they succeeded. The head of the American Rocket Society in 1952 took President Truman to task for the attack orders. Frank Feschino Jr. (“Shoot Them Down”) has gathered hundreds of reports of supposed airplane crashes in the USA and overseas in the early 1950s. Three military pilots, each of whom flew over 100 missions in Korea where they had to deal with marauding MIGs, crashed when they came back home. That seems very suspicious to me.
5. WHY would saucers crash?
Usually this is accompanied by a comment that it makes no sense that a sophisticated vehicle coming from many light years away could possibly crash. Please note that the vehicle could have come from a base on the back side of the moon, in the asteroid belt, on Mars or some alien “coaling station” in the local neighborhood. I once did 25 college lectures in 35 days in 15 states. I was gone all the time from when I left home until I returned rather than going back and forth to home after each lecture.
A. In the first place, there are many indications that what crashed at Roswell and in the Plains of San Agustin in New Mexico in early July, 1947, were small Earth excursion modules rather than the interstellar, very large vehicles (space carriers? mother ships?) which would have brought them to Earth just as our large aircraft carriers carry 75 or so small airplanes whose mode of propulsion is distinctly different from that of the carrier.
B. Secondly, when we examine major efforts by the Transportation Safety Board to determine the cause of aircraft crashes, we often find, after much effort, that it was simple unexpected things ranging from loose bolts, to ingested birds, to faulty wiring, to pilot error, to ice in the wrong place. It could have been very high atmospheric electricity levels because of storms or the great dryness of the desert air. Or unexpected high altitude hail. We know a radar set was on over at White Sands because of an impending rocket launch and the fact that it used vacuum tubes. This was a tracking radar pointed North. Crossing the beam might have led to a small hiccup in the control system for a magnetoaerodynamic propulsion system leading to a collision and subsequent collision of the lead saucer and its wingman’s saucer. Perhaps a US military rocket launched in the neighborhood might have inadvertently homed in on a saucer. Perhaps there was a momentary loss of attention when the Trinity highly radioactive site, at which the first atomic bomb was tested, was noted. We certainly have no reason to believe that aliens never make mistakes, or never run into the unexpected. Some day perhaps the government will release the report that was undoubtedly written as to the causes of the crashes. Just because we don’t have that report, it doesn’t mean the event didn’t take place.
6. WHY haven’t you seen a flying saucer?
I have no idea, though I have mostly lived in cities and am watching for traffic rather than looking to the skies. I check my audiences after my lectures and find that typically 10% have seen one, which covers many decades. Only 10% of those were reported. I have never seen Tokyo either or had polio or HIV. I know people who have seen Tokyo, had polio, or HIV. I spent many years chasing neutrons and gamma rays. Never saw one of them either. They are also real.
7. WHY do you say SETI stands for Silly Effort to Investigate?
Frankly I find that there is very little science behind the SETI effort. It is assumed that there are civilizations using communication technologies similar to ones we have developed to try to attract our attention. It assumes there is no colonization and no migration and that nobody is coming here. They assume that because it takes less energy to send signals than to travel, that nobody is traveling. Of course nobody flies from Newark to Hong Kong because the Internet and telephone is cheaper! Hah. It is all fancily dressed hogwash. They could easily be thousands or millions of years ahead of us. An AM radio doesn’t pick up FM signals. A German General just before the start of World War II in Europe noted (see Ref. 2) that the Brits were building a whole array of tall (more than 200′) towers with cross pieces which he figured had to be part of a radar net. The Graf Zeppelin slowly moved parallel to the array and listened and found no signals. The frequency being used was 10 times higher than what the Germans were using and they fortunately were never aware of how well their planes were being tracked.
If civilizations, with a great deal of common heritage and similar background and access to similar science, can’t correctly predict the technique to be used by similar people a few hundred miles away, why assume we can second-guess aliens? They persistently say there is no evidence for UFOs, but always avoid dealing with the large scale scientific studies. Check their references. Look carefully at the Drake Equation, their Holy Grail. We have no way to determine the lifetime of a civilization, or the fraction of planets that have intelligent life or that develop technology. We have data on one “civilization” on one planet in one solar system. Real scientists don’t extrapolate or interpolate from one data point. The SETI people omit colonization and migration which could greatly lengthen the life span of a civilization. That is pseudoscience, no matter how many degreed professionals are involved. Admittedly, their job security is dependent on nobody coming here…
8. WHY hasn’t the government taken out Stan Friedman, if what he is saying about a Cosmic Watergate and overwhelming evidence that we have visitors is true?
Obviously I don’t speak for the government. I am careful in what I say, and I don’t break the law in seeking classified data from people with clearances. I may be doing exactly what they want, that is, preparing the public for the date when the great secret is released. I have never had an unlisted telephone number. It is in my books and on my website. All those lonely drives to Roswell would provide plenty of opportunity. My answering service is instructed to give out my travel information to callers. Frankly, I can’t live my life looking over my shoulder. Some have suggested I was too well known and that a sudden death would be suspicious…
9. WHY would people fake a bunch of MJ-12 documents?
I am not a psychiatrist, but I would suggest to enhance status; to think “Gotcha”; or to disinform the public so that the fake documents would be an excuse for labeling such genuine documents as the Eisenhower Briefing Document, the Truman-Forrestal Memo, and the Cutler-Twining Memo as frauds. Or, perhaps, might it be to be able to claim that the proponents are stupid or are disinformation specialists? The same old tired false anti-MJ-12 arguments keep being put forth despite the fact that I have demonstrated that they are nonsense. The Majestic 12 article in Wikipedia is loaded with false and misleading claims. For example, in the 5000-word afterword in “TOP SECRET/MAJIC” 2nd Edition (2005), in “Update on Operation Majestic 12” (see www.stantonfriedman.com), in “Roswell and the MJ-12 Documents in the New Millennium” (Ref.5), and in my “Review of Case MJ-12” also on my website I demolish the antis and show that other MJ-12 documents are fraudulent. Remember, one of the key rules for debunkers is “Don’t bother me with the facts, my mind is made up.” Another is “Do your research by proclamation, investigation is too much trouble and the public won’t know the difference.” I distinctly showed that at least seven of the supposed MJ-12 documents provided to Timothy Cooper are emulations of real documents published in books and generally available. They were retyped, much handwritten material was Xeroxed or scanned, and the two were combined. And there were often factual misstatements. Deuterium is not light hydrogen. Sandia is in New Mexico, while General Spaatz was not in New Mexico on July 7, 1947 (I found his flight log and a newspaper article and desk calendar indicating he was in Port Aransas, Texas, fishing).
Some of the statements from the phony emulations were repeated in other documents which means the latter ones were also phony. I have been told that when good information is leaked, bad is put out so as to confuse things and imply the real ones are phony: guilt by association. It is interesting that Colonel Richard Weaver, author of the grossly misleading USAF Book “The Roswell Report: Truth vs. Fiction in the New Mexico Desert” (see Ref. 5) had as his military specialty “Disinformation.” He provided the fiction.
10. WHY have you kept at it since reading Ruppelt’s book in 1958 and giving your first lecture in 1967?
I enjoy being on the stage and the very enthusiastic response I get from my audiences, especially from the technical societies. I am pleased when people tell me that they decided to teach a course about UFOs, after hearing me talk. I can think of no subject more important to the future for my children and grandson than the notion of an earthling orientation in the hope of helping stop the proliferation of nuclear weapons. What is more exciting than alien visitations and government cover-ups? I believe I bring a unique background to my presentations:
A. So far as I know I have worked on more cancelled high technology classified programs than anybody and so can deal with those silly “It would violate the laws of Physics” arguments. Not many have worked on nuclear airplanes, or in general on fission and fusion propulsion systems.
B. Because I worked on many classified programs and have visited 20 archives, I am in a better position than most to deal with the silly “Secrets can’t be kept” notions.
C. Because I have probably had to answer about 40,000 questions at lectures and on talk shows and in classes, I have been forced to think about the questions such as the “WHY?” questions, more than most.
D. I was very fortunate to be able to find that my memory was good and reliable (at least until recently) and I could give acceptable answers in a hurry. Being on debate teams in high school probably helped a lot. I have been very lucky, first to have worked on so many leading edge classified programs, and second to be able to provide so many presentations to attentive audiences.
